Link to the Intent to Apply Online Application

We will review the Intent to Apply, contact you with any questions or concerns, and then (once approved) post your position in our recruitment page.

3. Complete the Full Application.

February
22

This is done using the same system that you used to submit your intent to apply.

When the Intent to Apply was submitted an email was sent to the contact person identified in the Intent to Apply. That email contains the link that will enable you to re-enter the application system and complete or update your existing information.

We will review applications and request revisions when necessary past the February 1st deadline (though a complete application must be submitted by February 22).

4. Begin Recruiting

March
1

Recruiting a appropriate person to serve as your VISTA is the most important part of the entire process. Once the Project approves the position description that you provide in your intent to apply, the selection of the appropriate VISTA candidate is largely the responsibility of the organization.

Your organization should recruit locally but we will also send you information on VISTA applicants that apply to the CTC VISTA Project via the AmeriCorps national recruiting system if they express a specific interest in your position and seem reasonably qualified.

5. Identify a candidate

April
25

Identify a candidate to whom you would like to offer a position and contact us so that we can review their application. Once we have reviewed the application, your placement can be given 'preliminary approval'– contingent upon the receipt of the required paperwork and final Corporation approval). This is not a hard deadline, but this is about where you should be in the process

6. Submit Final Paperwork

May
16

Submit the remainder of the organizational application and all additional paperwork. The CTC VISTA Project now submits all applications(for organizations and VISTA candidates) to CNCS for final review and we then notify you of the outcome within two weeks. At this time organizations that are recruiting second VISTAs or continuing beyond the third year will be given preliminary approval (see B. and C. below).

7. VISTA members begin their service

Early
July

Following the VISTA member's attendance at our mandatory Pre-Service Orientation, they begin their year of service.
