Updating Service Listings

I'm still working on updating the service listings in our database. I now have help from 2 workers from the Goodwill, Leslie and Ipo. They are checking the web links to make sure they work and are current and passing the updates to be made onto me. They are also looking for new resources to add to the database since they're both used to searching for social services online. It's been fun working with them.

Cool deal. Does this mean you're supervising them too? It's always nice to have some help with large (tedious) tasks.

Have you seen Firefox's LinkChecker add-on? You can quickly install it in Firefox by clicking this link:

Then, it highlights all bad links in a page so you can speed up the tedious task of highlighting bad links.

Hope that's useful!

Still doing database work

I spent the past month updating the links and entries for Benton-Franklin counties in the database. This involved a lot of research (i.e., googling) to find websites for services that either had no website link or the link was old and incorrect. There were short interludes where I edited documents Ronda, my supervisor, wrote.

Getting Ready for New Client

While I spent a considerable amount of time updating links in our database, I also prepared the case management system we have for a new client in Kittitas County (Washington).

Finally enjoying updating database

We lost the 2 workers, so I've been going through the service listings one by one, checking them to make sure the links work, adding links if none exist. I've been enjoying the internet searches connected with this task and have been learning about all the resources available.
